How to add some ‘sparkle’ to your makeup looks this Christmas
With Christmas and New Year’s Eve fast approaching, we are all making plans to celebrate with friends and family. If you’re anything like me, you’re planning the best Christmas makeup look to match your party outfit. A lot of us are so busy during this time of year so we want to look amazing without the fuss. With that in mind, I have put together a list of my favourite makeup products to help you easily take your look to the next level this holiday season.
Eyeshadow
Eye makeup is my favourite part of a makeup look. Usually, because it involves a bit of sparkle and I can’t get enough! My favourite product to use on the eyes for festive makeup on the eyes is Bobbi Brown’s Luxe Eyeshadow Moonstone. It is a perfect champagne sparkle shade that works on all skin tones. They do lots of different shades but this one is the most universal – you can use it in the inner corner for a pop of shimmer on an everyday look, or all over the lid for all out sparkle!

False Lashes
Lashes are an amazing way to level-up your eye makeup for the festive season. Adding a lash, instantly gives your eyes a lift and brings the drama for those Christmas parties. One of my favourite brands of lash are Prima Lashes. I have used the ‘Holly’ set here – these are more of a dramatic set, which I would recommend to my clients who are going for more of a glam look. If you are wanting a more subtle look, I would recommend the ‘Asmara’ sets.

Blusher
Using a blush in your makeup routine will instantly bring life back into your complexion – perfect for those cold days where you need a bit of oomph. I love to use a blush with a subtle shimmer in to create a healthy glow on my clients. The shimmer also helps to tie in with the sparkle on the eyes. It’s a really simple way to make your look seem really put together, without needing a lot of thought. Some of my favourite shimmer blushes to use are from Tropic Skincare. ‘Very Berry’ and ‘Cinnamon Sugar’ are the perfect winter shades.

Lips
A red lip is a must for the festive season! A complete staple in my kit is MAC Ruby Woo which is a universal true red that suits all complexions. To get a crisp red lip, make sure you use a red lip liner. This will stop the lip colour from bleeding over your lip line, and, you can line the whole lip with this first to prolong the colour. Finish with a dab on concealer on a flat brush around the lip to help neaten those lines even more.

Setting Spray
Finally, to set your look in place, use a setting spray. My all time favourite is one from Charlotte Tilbury. As well as smelling divine, this helps prolong the makeup on my client’s faces and allows them to dance the night away, knowing their makeup isn’t going anywhere.
Now you’re party ready for this holiday season! I hope you all have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. As always my bookings are open for occasion makeup. Please get in touch to find out more.
